Effective date: June 15, 2026
This privacy policy applies to the Plantoni mobile application (the “App”) developed by Plantoni (the “Service Provider”). The App is offered as a freemium service and is provided “as is”.
When you download and use the App, we may process information you choose to provide (for example, if you contact us by email). The App does not require you to create a separate account with the Service Provider to use core features; much of your data is stored locally on your device.
We may use contact details you provide (such as your email) to respond to your requests and send service-related communications.
To provide plant identification, disease diagnosis, and AI chat, images and text you submit may be transmitted to servers operated by the Service Provider and processed using third-party artificial intelligence services. This processing is necessary to deliver those features. Please do not submit photos or text you consider highly sensitive if you are uncomfortable with this processing.
The App may collect certain technical information automatically, such as the type of device, operating system, app usage events, in-app interactions, and similar diagnostic data, to improve stability, understand how the App is used, and measure the performance of marketing campaigns.
If you enable the weather feature, the App requests permission to use your device’s approximate location to fetch current weather conditions for plant-care recommendations via Apple WeatherKit. Location is processed only when the App is in use and is not stored on our servers. You can revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.
The App uses push notifications for plant-care reminders, limited-time offers, and other service messages. With your permission, a push notification token is registered with our notification provider (OneSignal) and stored together with basic engagement metadata (delivery, opens). You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.
The App may show or measure advertising for Plantoni on third-party platforms (such as Meta’s family of apps). To support attribution and campaign measurement, the App integrates the Meta SDK and uses Apple’s SKAdNetwork framework.
On first launch, iOS will show an App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt asking whether you allow the App to track you across other companies’ apps and websites:
You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or in Settings → Plantoni → Allow Tracking.
In-app purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple and our payment/subscription partner. The Service Provider does not receive your full payment card details.
If you use features that sync data via Apple iCloud, that sync is subject to Apple’s privacy policy. Data is stored in your personal iCloud account.
The App uses AI to power identification, diagnosis, chat, and related features. Inputs you provide may be processed by automated systems to generate responses or results, in line with this policy and applicable law.
The App uses third-party services that have their own privacy practices. Examples include:
Only aggregated or service-necessary data is shared with these providers as described in their respective policies. Where required by law, we rely on your consent (collected through the ATT prompt and OS-level permissions) as the legal basis for these transfers.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate fraud, or when working with service providers who process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements.
You can control how the App processes your data through the following channels:
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or California, you may have additional rights under local law, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us at appplanto@gmail.com to exercise these rights.
We retain information as needed to provide the service and as permitted by law. Automatically collected analytics data may be retained in aggregated form. To request deletion of information you provided by email, contact us at appplanto@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
The App is not directed at young children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (U.S.). If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us at appplanto@gmail.com so we can take appropriate steps.
If you are in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom and are below the age at which you can consent to the processing of your personal data under local law (often 16, or lower where national law allows), you must have your parent or guardian’s permission to use the App, and they should review this policy with you.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
We may update this policy from time to time by posting a new version at this URL. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance unless otherwise required by law.
